MANAGEMENT

MK2 is divided into three different Divisions, with each one serving a set purpose of the business. The group comprises of a management team of three, with each executive being in charge of one leg of the business as follows:

Dr. Tumisang Makweya: MK2 Records Group Executive

Tumisang Makweya heads the creative division at MK2. A medical doctor by profession, Tumi brings years of experience in the entertainment industry also. He has shown over the years of his 'no fear' attitude towards challenges. In 2003 he was involved at the Coca Cola POPSTARS and made it to the top 30 after over 16000 participants. He was then called back for extra training as he was one of the most outstanding talents at pop stars. It was at this time that he underwent extensive training about the entertainment industry. The workshops included entertainment law, music business, vocal training even social skills. The training allowed him to work with the greatest in the business. From entertainment lawyers to record labels like EMI. Amongst people who trained him at these workshops were Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Caiphus Semenya, Letta Mbuli, Thembi Seete and Blondie Makhene to mention just a few. He worked even closer with Loyiso Bala and Zwaai who called him "a gift". He has shared stages with the likes of Pastor Benjamin Dube, Vuyo Mokoena, Jabu Hlongwane and other members of the Joyous Celebration group.

A producer, songwriter, instrumentalist and vocalist, he has seen a number of musical projects go up into the sky. In 2004 he headed a music department at MEDUNSA were part of his responsibility was to organise and overlook some of the major entertainment functions at the institution (e.g. leadership seminars, concerts, dance shows, recordings and so on)which generated money for organisations involved. In 2005/2006 he was also involved in a music production, where he composed, produced and even featured in some of the songs as an instrumentalist and vocalist. Highly gifted and creative young man, continuously contributing new ideas and business ventures, He adds the non-ending expansion that the group needs and shows. He has written 13 of the 14 songs on the Intense CD and has a portfolio of over a 100 songs that MK2 is currently looking for artists to record.

An individual who believes in hard work, honesty, discipline team work, and that in order to make it big in life you have got to go out there and do it, he comes as an asset to the MK2's Creative division. Tumi is part of the two other reasons why MK2 entertainment group is going places.

Mr. David Ramphekwa: MK2 Productions Group Executive

David Ramphekwa is a dynamic strategic founder member of MK2 with a proven record of innovativeness when posed to a practical aspect. As a founder member he brings direction as well massive support & direction to the company at large. Having being a leader of various departments and organizations he has proved to be very successful and have managed to kick start various projects which later got managed by leaders he groomed and mentored.

As a pianist he played in a Varsity group whilst studying his Engineering Diploma where he ended up being the Caretaker Manager for not more than a year before he left the institution. His background includes that of being projects manager position since 1999 for some few years before he changed career path to being an New Business development manager in an ICT Company leading the industry and partnering with major Telecommunications companies through out the world.

As a leader by nature it took less than a year after he joined a choir as lead vocal, pianist that he was approached by management to direct a musical group comprising of lot of young aspirant talented young men & women.

A few groups that he manages have performed in various corporate events for large companies in the country. As an entertainer himself he boasts in the ability to identify, groom and avail platform to the known and unknown for excellence in production. A number of reasons proves him to be successful business.

Mr. Segodi "Prof" Leshalabe: MK2 Enterprises Group Executive.

Segodi heads MK2 enterprises. Although he studied IT at Wits University before joining Eskom and two years later joining arivia.kom whom he has been with for over 4 years, he has always been involved in the entertainment world and can’t wait to join it full time. He however doesn’t regrets the more than six years he spend in the IT industry as he has learned a lot during this time, especially on how to mix IT with business needs. The last year and a half was life changing for him as he joined the business intelligence team that serviced Eskom. This was where his thinking about business changed and towards the end of 2006 he attended a two months course on the subject. It is from this influence that he motivated why MK2 should think, see itself and operate as an intelligent entity.

His involvement in entertainment saw him chair a writing contest whilst still at Wits, in 2000 he led a CD recording project where he learned a lot about music. In 2003 he organized a music contest that brought together over 400 young people to Braamfontein for the finals. In 2004 he wrote and produced a movie on abortion and in 2005 he received funding to produce his first novel. In 2006 he was selected by Wits business school and Sunday Times to attend course in new venture creation as his business plan was rated amongst the best. Still in the same year, Gauteng news and BidorBuy Internet Company rated one of his online business ideas second best in a national contest.

Segodi believes in honesty, integrity and trust as his key values. With the business intelligence department in his charge, more innovative projects are yet to come and MK2 partners stand to gain even more. Segodi is currently doing his honours in technology management with University of Pretoria and is also considering writing his CFA exams later this year.
